The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice and the staff are super welcoming and friendly. Our chef , Tom was very entertaining when preparing everyone’s meal in front of us. Overall it was a great experience and that is what your paying for with that price tag. The sushi was amazing and super flavourful, as well as the wagyu gyoza (halal). Overall, would definitely recommend coming here for a special occasion (everyone at our table came for a birthday or anniversary)

This is our second visit in less than a week, we are here on vacation and giving up other reservations to come back. The food is excellent as are the cocktails. On both our visits so far we have taken our server’s suggestions and haven’t been disappointed. Tonight, the fish head was the highlight of the night, don’t be afraid to order it – delish!!! Chef/owner Darren runs a tight ship, we saw this first hand and that’s the reason the service and food are both excellent. (Google reviews)

We’ve wanted to come here for years and it is amazing. The skewers are delicious, the sake beer is amazing. Everything we ate was so good. Their special confit wings were the best wings we’ve ever had. Every chicken wing should taste like those. We’re not from Calgary but this will be a place we come every time we come back for a visit. Also, amazing service! (Google reviews)

I like sushi. I had a chance to taste sushi in several dozens of places all over the world. This place offers one of the best!(Google reviews)

My partner and I went here last night for supper. We had a great time. Several years ago our local favorite sushi restaurant changed ownership and (in our opinion) the quality took a steep decline. Since then we have been hunting down the best sushi restaurant and I think we have a winner. Sushi Ginza was the best sushi we have had in years. The portions were perfect and everything looked and tasted fresh and delicious. Our server, Ling, was welcoming, warm, and knowledgeable. We will absolutely return for more.(Google reviews)

Awesome place to get Japanese food. It has become our favorite place for Ramen in Calgary. The Red Fuji Ramen is the best! Spicy and delicious! The deep fried sushi is also very good. The service is always awesome, everyone is happy here! (Google reviews)

I went to Fuji Ramen twice this week because it was so amazing! I had the Black Fuji Tonkotsu Ramen and it was so delicious. The pork just melted in my mouth and I love that it was a full egg, not just half an egg like at some other ramen places. I went back later in the week with my kids and I love that kids are not an afterthought there. They had training chopsticks, kids utensils, fun colouring sheets and markers. The food again was delicious. The owner was so great with my kids and super accommodating! I will definitely be back again.(Google reviews)

This place is considered one of the top three sushi takeout restaurants in Calgary. There is a very popular Dynamite Roll on the menu, and the Cucumber Maki, as well as Miso Soup, is an item that is often ordered together in this evening hang-out. There is a lot of Japanese food on offer at this restaurant, which is well-cooked. It is a pleasure to try the best katsu, sushi, and cutlets on the menu here.

You can always expect excellent service at Ki Sushi and friendly, helpful staff. It is a perfect place to go if you are searching for a flavoursome meal at an average price. They have modern decor and a lovely atmosphere here at the hotel, which makes guests feel relaxed and comfortable.

What do clients think?

Hands down my favourite sushi place in Calgary. Their rolls aren’t over saturated with rice and the ingredients are pretty fresh. I can tell because the soft shell grab and the scallops did not taste fishy at all. I loved the black fish eggs on the hidden dragon rolls. I would definitely come back again. (Google reviews)

A great neighbourhood sushi restaurant worth making the trip to. Had lunch here by chance over the holiday, as it was the only place open in the area. I will definitely be back. The sashimi was fresh with generous portion sizes, the rolls were great and not loaded with rice. The tempura was crispy and light. The prices are decent.(Google reviews)

What do clients think?

“Loooooooved this restaurant! The food was AMAZING, super fresh, tasty & awesome quality.
We were happily surprised by our dinner there!
The prices were also really great! Highly recommend and we will definitely go again!” (Google reviews)

“A hidden gem in Calgary for traditional Japanese cuisine. While sushi and sashimi is offered here and great, the trip here is for the other fare not readily available or offered anywhere else like the zaru soba, dashimaki, and sake clams. This quiet and quaint restaurant is run by an old Japanese master and usually one server but the service is great.” (Google reviews)

Final Words:

If you were able to pick one Japanese restaurant out of the ones we mentioned, we hope you were able to experience authentic Japanese cuisine there. Feel free to reach out to us or leave comments about your experience, whether you enjoyed your delivery or dine-in! We look forward to hearing from you.
