Top 7 Best nursing homes in Calgary

Outside of a hospital, nursing homes provide the highest level of care for older adults. Custodial care, provided by nursing homes, includes assistance with getting in and out of bed, feeding, bathing, and dressing.

Despite this, nursing homes also provide a high level of medical care, making them different from other senior living facilities. Patients are always cared for by a licensed physician, who is usually accompanied by a nurse or another medical professional. On-site nursing services are available to residents 24 hours a day.

My sister and I moved our mom to Calgary from Winnipeg, where she had lived in her own little home until 90. She needed to be close to family, and being very independent, was able to be accommodated in one of Sage Hill’s Independent Living suites. As time progressed, and she needed more assistance, it was provided with care and dignity. We cannot say enough about the kindness and friendliness of the staff….everyone from the receptionist to the handyman, the bus driver who drove the “scenic tours”, the dining room staff who remembered her favourites, but especially Samantha, the director, and her most excellent staff. This is a welcoming and caring home for our loved ones….with excellent attention to safety and health. This was a stressful year and a half, and the measures they put in place early on gave us all peace of mind. We simply could not have had our mom in a better place. Thank you to everyone there.(Google Review)
