Today’s Top Instagram Model: Christine Roberton Rachar

Born in the cold streets of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Christine Roberton Rachar moved to Calgary as a child, grew up in the south end of the city, and then eventually settled in Okotoks, Alberta. Christine is an aspiring lifestyle blogger, who has taken to her Instagram page (this.oak.house) to share all of her interior decorating and design tips as she renovates her 4,200 sq ft 1980s Oak covered home.

Christine also lends her hand to blogging about fashion, beauty, and her unique experience of being widowed not once, but twice. Her perspective on grief and loss is inspiring to those who follow her. She also gives practical advice on everything from improving your mental health, raising a teenager as a single mom, house hacks, and everything in between.

Christine is a passionate social advocate who has presented to thousands of youth on the risks associated with teen violence. She has also worked with women facing addiction and homelessness and is a certified grief and loss facilitator.

Currently, Christine is working towards new adventures and focusing on publishing a book. Christine’s goal is to build her online presence and continue to inspire women with her positive outlook on life, despite the adversity she has faced.

Christine shares, “My dream is to build a life that I love, starting over is always a challenge…but it is also an opportunity to do something amazing and leave the world a better place than it was when I arrived.”

Christine would describe herself as more of a “selfie” extraordinaire, rather than a model. Her most unforgettable feature is her beautiful blue eyes. Christine has some fun accomplishments behind her including writing a column for a local magazine, hosting a successful true crime podcast and running a dog bowtie business in her spare time (@bonetiesandbling).

Breanne Forest

A part-time writer for Rated Viral, Breanne currently attends university in Calgary and is planning to become a social worker. In her spare time, she participates in charity events and Indigenous activism.
