History:
Thai cuisine is an elegant yet straightforward combination of Eastern and Western influences harmoniously mingled together. All dishes contain flavors, including sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy. Different Thai dishes depend on what region of Thailand the dish is from. Thai dishes from the northeast, north, south, and central areas. A variety of aquatic animals, plants, and herbs were used in most dishes in the past.
Since there was a Buddhist background, large quantities of meat were avoided instead of being flavored with herbs and spices or roasted and then cut into strips. They are well known for their commitment and resourcefulness. Even in cooking, they are adept at replacing ingredients – for example, in Indian cuisine, ghee is substituted with coconut oil and coconut milk.
Thai food was developed centuries ago by people who migrated from southern Chinese provinces to modern-day Thailand. The Szechwan influences on Thai cuisine are mainly historical, though many different effects have influenced it. Sam Chanhao, who was introduced to authentic Thai food by his mother at a young age, thought Canadians deserved better and opened his first restaurant in Calgary in 1989. Customer Feedback:
The Thai Boat experience was particularly enjoyable this evening. From the greeting, to the seating at the table, and the service, all were excellent. For an early Monday evening, it was comfortably busy. At no time did we feel too close to others and the eating areas were physically divided. The lovely waitresses all wore masks.
The food portions were ample, with the sauces not too thick. All that attended enjoyed the Pad Thai Terminator. It has a slow building heat, but still delicious to eat.
I would return again to try other menu items. (Google review)

Customer Feedback:
Hands down THE BEST THAI IN CALGARY! The flavours are simply phenomenal! So rich and complex, I guarantee this will be a meal to remember. Everything we ordered surpassed anything I’ve ever tasted before. I recommend their Tom Gai (or something like that) coconut soup with mushrooms; it was so sweet, tasted like candy with just the right subtle spice.
I also recommend the duck curry; the flavours are so bold, the duck wonderfully tender, and the eggplant in it was probably the best thing I’ve ever tasted. As if it couldn’t get any better, we also had FREE ice cream at the end… And not just your average ice cream; beautifully rich and creamy coconut ice cream with fresh fruit. I would rate this restaurant 500/5 if I could (Google review)
