10 Best Hotels in Calgary

In Calgary, there are four quadrants: northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest. To decide where to stay in Calgary more straightforwardly, you should know what you will do on your trip and where you plan to spend your time.

We recommend staying in Kensington, the East Village, the Beltline, or even downtown if you visit as a tourist or for the first time to be close to attractions and restaurants. You may also want to consider the latter few if you’re in town for the Calgary Stampede. When visiting Calgary with a family, a downtown hotel is a good choice as most are close to the Calgary Zoo, Telus Spark Science Centre, and Calgary Tower.

It is most likely that business travelers will find a hotel near the airport or downtown. It will be easier to choose if you know about these areas. The dynamic city of Cow Town keeps visitors busy whether they are here for business or leisure. Here are some recommendations for the best hotels in Calgary you won’t regret.

Lovely hotel, superb location. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. It includes a mini bar, Nespresso coffee maker and safe. There are many pubs and restaurants right around the corner and it’s close to a beautiful shopping center with botanical gardens. Friendly and efficient staff. Great for solo female traveler. Highly recommend! (Google reviews)

Friendly staff (check-in, check out and valet). I loved the small touches by the hotel/staff which included a welcome amenity in the room, an upgraded room, offering a bottle of water for the road upon check out, and quick valet service. The room itself was spacious and had a comfortable bed. My favourite feature was the rain shower and bath products! Each floor has a filtered water station. Great location too, right next to the Sky Tower. My only nitpicking minor recommendation would be to add a larger coffee cup because one of them was only expresso size. Overall loved it and will stay at Le Germain again!(Google reviews)

Lovely hotel, all the staff are extremely friendly. The restaurant manager ( wish I could remember her name) went above and beyond to take care of us for my partners 40th birthday. The rooms were very clean, it was quite so easy to get some sleep. Also a GREAT location. So close to many local shops and restaurants and about a 15/20 min walk to the Jubilee. I highly recommend Arts hotel. 5* (Google reviews)

Stayed here 4 nights July 17-21. First of all I would like to thank the staff (front desk personnel, servers in lobby lounge, cleaners) for being so accommodating, welcoming and kind. Check in was a breeze. Was able to accommodate early check in. Also we decided to stay 4 nights instead of the original 2 and Sarah made it work. Marine (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was also very attentive to our needs.

The room was very comfortable and clean. My husband had hip surgery and the staff made sure we were very comfortable. Had snacks in the lobby bar with Marie as our server. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try the Oxbow restaurant. Location is perfect. Lots of shops and restaurants at your beck and call. Next time we are in Calgary I will be sure to book in here. Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality. (Google reviews)

We had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton this weekend. The hotel is clean, our room was large and very nice and the staff are very pleasant. The pool and hot tub were both great. The pool was quite shallow so our 6 year loved not needing a life jacket. There was also a nice patio just off the pool to enjoy the sun. You really can’t beat the location either. Many restaurants near by, Princes Island park and the C-train. (Google reviews)

We booked a room for my sister’s bachelorette party. I called the hotel that morning and asked for early check in to allow my mother to decorate the room and they were happy to oblige. We arrived to the hotel and the valets were amazing and treated us so well.

Once in the room it was beautiful – very accommodating for the 4 people we had in the room. The front desk agents were amazing and efficient from check in to check out. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely will be back to stay! Had a great time!(Google reviews)

Thanks to the Westley, we had a lovely stay in Calgary. The hotel staff is more than welcoming and kind. We arrived quite early but were lucky and they already had a room for us. The hotel and rooms are very stylish and clean. On every second floor there is water station to refill bottles in order to reduce plastic waste. Great! My favorite was the gym. Absolute delightful stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Firstly, the standard rooms are some of the best I’ve stayed in: spacious, modern and plush. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I was honestly blown away by the standard of customer service, welcoming and friendly staff. Every where we went our needs were anticipated.

Comfortable stay and no airport noise that we noticed. Walking distance to restaurants and takeaway shops. Ms. Anna ( Marketing Manager ), was very friendly and gave us excellent service. Deserves a big pay on the back for being an exemplary associate of the hotel. Would definitely recommend for families due to the size of the rooms, and I hope to return in the future and highly recommend to anyone stopping by on their way to/from airport. (Google reviews)

Very impressed with this hotel! The room was super modern, even having underglow on the bed that you could toggle with your remote. The bathroom was large and stylish, and the shower was fantastic – it had multiple options of where/how the water flowed, including overhead, shoulder/hip area, and a wand. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Restaurant on main level, had a solid breakfast menu. Would 100% stay here again, definitely in the top 10 hotels I’ve been to for a business trip.(Google reviews)

Stayed at this hotel two nights and it was amazing. One of the nights we had an issue with the lights under the bed turning on without us touching the remote and the staff was very quick to fix the issue. They even let us leave our luggage locked up at the hotel after our checkout for a few hours. Rooftop hot tubs were awesome. Restaurant downstairs has great food and wing night on Sundays. We will be returning next time we’re in Calgary.(Google reviews)

We checked into the hotel a day earlier in an advance of a tour. We were immediately impressed by the staff and cleanliness of our room. We attended the dining room to purchase a dessert for later. The male at the desk invited us to have a seat and that a server will be right along. We waited 10 minutes and received no assistance.

I waited an hour and returned. I explained to the woman now manning the desk what had happened and that I was not happy with the service, or lack thereof she directed me to the bar as I would receive faster service. Well after waiting another 20 minutes to receive our dessert, I was also asked for my room key to pay for the dessert.(Google reviews)

Beautiful hotel in a great downtown location. Service and cleanliness were perfect! Quiet and comfortable room. Our housekeeper, Janette, was very personable and helpful, and supplied us with all our needs in the room. Neal at the front door was amazing – so friendly and courteous – and was always ready to answer our questions. I would definitely stay here again!(Google reviews)

We absolutely love this hotel our family comes here once a month when we visit Calgary. The pool is awesome for the kids, the bars are great relaxation for the adults, the next day breakfast always has what we need and the guest service is always attentive.

Last night I showed up at the front bar after 10pm closing and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my kids had their food order and the parents had their drinks, we left a generous tip and then off to the rooms for the night. We keep coming here time and time again. Thank you to the Cavalier staff! (Google reviews)

Great hotel! Water park is great and love the poolside bar for the parents. Only negative is the buffet which consists of microwaved eggs, sausage, and bacon. If you pay for the menu breakfast it’s actually real food and it’s much better and actually cheaper than the buffet.(Google reviews)

Had a really nice stay here this weekend. Rooms were clean and the staff were very nice. The underground parking was convenient. Be aware it’s about $30 per night but that’s fairly standard for downtown Calgary. There’s a restaurant in the building but we didn’t go there as there’s lots of other options in the area. Amazing hotel! I only wish we had longer in Calgary to enjoy it. Fantastic, helpful desk staff; comfortable beds; incredibly well-designed rooms; a HUGE new TV – and last but not least a great lounge for those with VIP access.
